OCTOBER 2020 FREE DESKTOP CALENDAR DOWNLOAD

The season of spicy pumpkin lattes and warm woollen mittens is approaching quickly, and I think I’m eventually ready to let the summer go. After all, the autumn can be quite enchanting too, and quoting one of my favourite protagonists from the childhood - Anne of Green Gables - “I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

This month I decided to do “homage” to one of the top 5 most popular plants in the world - Chrysanthemum (or mum)I find it quite interesting that these flowers have such a conflicting symbolism - in some countries, they are related to happiness and joy, whereas, in some places in Europe (in the one I come from for example), the chrysanthemum is considered the flower of death and is typically used in funerals and on graves.

I definitely chose the first connotation, which is joy and happiness, especially after trying a certain beverage “Made in China” - Chrysanthemum tea. Not only is it tasty, but it also has many health benefits.

I also love the fact that there are hundreds of different varieties of mums. Apparently, plant breeders are regularly creating some new ones each year. So I decided to “breed” my own too, and use it for this month calendar. My mums are a bit different and quite messy, but I hope you will like them as much as I do.
